Nelson Mandela International Day

Nelson Mandela is a man well-known to be an anti-apartheid activist in South Africa who fought to promote values such as democracy, freedom, equality, diversity, reconciliation, and respect.

Today the world marks Nelson Mandela day not only as a day of celebration, honoring his good deeds or promoting different projects that were inspired by Mandela?s achievements but also as a day where the people can recognize that they can offer something of value back to the community and make life changing impacts to the people around them.

This is a day that calls everyone globally for action to take the initiative of being responsible to make the world a better peaceful place to live. This call is to all sectors, that is, NGOs, governments, and businesses and even the community that have the needy to bring a change of to their lives. Mandela showed the world that the impossible is attainable and it can be done a step at a time through strives and perseverance and now we can follow in his footsteps.

At a global level, change as implied by the Nelson Mandela slogan ?Take Action. Inspire Change. Make Every Day a Mandela Day? can be achieved by action towards the Millennium Development.

The World Assembly of Youth encourages youth worldwide to step up, take action to improve their societies to make a difference and build their communities. Nelson Mandela gave 67 years of his life to fight injustice; the youth can also give a small amount of their time to impact their environments.
