62nd Way Anniversary

Since its establishment in 1949, World Assembly of Youth (WAY) has been in recognition of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the basis of its action and services. At this opportune instance, WAY has kept the course of members to a number of 120 National Youth Councils and youth organizations around the world. All of whom persist to work towards a common objective, that is; ‘in the service of youth’.

I therefore take this opportunity to congratulate my comrades, leaders and youth workers under WAY on the commendable work done over the past years as we commemorate 62 years in the service of youth!

The organization remembers and rejoices over all its achievements over the past years. Every impact made to give platforms to resolving youth issues has been imprinted through events, conferences, general assembly meetings and the help of national voluntary youth organizations for the true satisfaction of youth’s needs and the fulfillment of youth’s responsibilities. Evidently, Goals can change a vague dream into a plan of action.

As was in the past, we remember our yesterdays by believing in the youth, which is why we hold on to the principles and seek to foster their growth and development. WAY shall continue plan for our tomorrows by providing services to the youth, giving them opportunities to use their creative abilities to dialogue and forge solutions in form of declarations to change their own world. On this day we celebrate by reaffirming our commitment to working with other organizations through global partnerships to fight for the rights of youth.

Then again, we are grateful for all the contribution and incentives made in the various WAY events, the partnerships, and volunteers working with us in this effort to fulfill the goals of bringing services to the youth. Indeed, united we stand divided we fall.
