The International Center for Leading Studies1 continuing the educational projects of the past 13 years in MAICh, announces three programs for the summer 2013:

I. “The International Academy for Advanced Studies” (TIAAS) July 19 – August 8, 2013, regenerates the successful 18 years old International Institute for Political and Economic Studies (IIPES) program.

TIAAS students from all around the globe gather to study, discuss and interact in the MAICh multicultural environment.

The academic program explores the academic background of major contemporary issues, from political economy to geopolitics and environment, conflict management, civil society and its roots of Plato, among others. The academic program is enhanced with active dialogue designed to promote intercultural understanding, while students enjoy the many beauties of the Chania area, and explore the major sites of history.

II. “Leaders for Our Future” (LFOF), July 14 - 30, 2013. The summer program for young promising leaders of 15-18 years old, previously known as the “Kernels of our Future”.

Leadership, conflict management, microeconomics, trade, and the environment, media techniques, International Organizations and the role of civil society, are the subjects that are discussed through simulation games. They produce knowledge and experience that set off the inherent possibilities of youth, the tomorrow’s leaders.

III. 1st Chania Forum on “Economy, Energy, Politics and Power” (1st CFEEPP), Friday 26 – Monday 29 July 2013. This year, for the first time, the traditional IIPES “Ambassadors’ Forum” is institutionalized and upgraded, opens to a broader audience, but also serve as a “Leadership in Practice” module for both programs.

The 4 day event will be focusing on the present-day interrelated issues of geopolitics, energy, economy, conflict prevention, the role of international organizations, and more, that are affecting national & international relations, societies and the human security of citizens. Guest speakers and discussants will be expert prominent personalities with actual experience in their related field.

The Forum will be open to everybody interested upon individual registration and consequent invitation. A registration fee is required. For participants of the two summer schools participation is mandatory and included in the tuition fee.
